Meeting with Tribal Representatives on Monday, June 15

Hi all,

There will be a meeting with representatives of the Northern Cheyenne to Pine Ridge and the Rosebud reservations on Monday at the Hill City Information Center on
Monday, June 15 @ 10:00 a.m.

Many years sensitive natural resources guide our behavior. Please show respect for the people who consider the Black Hills sacred land and for their culture. We are asking people to treat spring council as a ceremony, treat our hosts with the utmost respect, and bend our traditions to accommodate theirs as best we can. If you have been drinking, please stay away as we are being welcomed to council here and we do not want to offend our First Nation brothers and sisters.  Please wear appropriate clothing as some tribal members may take offense at nudity. This year, I hope that sensitive cultural intersections will guide our actions. Council in respect for all people in attendance and the beautiful land that is welcoming us.

Hill City Information Center
23935 Hwy 385,

Please plan on attending if you are in the area.  Please be on your best behavior and raise any questions or concerns you may have with the people in attendance in a respectful manner. As with all things rainbow related, no experience is necessary.

  3. Since when were True Rainbows disrespectful? And who's prophesying no magic in SD. The blood of more than just Natives is circling black hills. And pooled together in Pipestone Minnesota. The blood is from the last time the creator destroyed the planet by water. Than creator gave us the rainbows you see in the sky. Seems to me all the magic is going to be in the Black Hills. It could even be biblical in Nature. Don't miss the bus!!! Follow your hearts brothers and sisters to the hills. The family is spiritual. Sins get you in trouble not love. So if your about love for real don't worry about South Dakota. You'll all be ok. If your about something other than what the family is about and just want to party go to one of those capitalist conventions or a bar. Peace and Love Rainbows See you Over the Rainbow

    2. Don't just swallow what the feds tell you about the family. I won't be there because I understand a thing or two about sacred sites. However, the scaremongering this year is pretty intense. They will leave with less trash in the woods than what is there now. There may be a few more grass trails which should correct themselves in a few months. Drugs are not common because no one's allowed to sell them. The outer fringe of the gathering, near the road, will have some drinkers and the interior of the gathering will be more peaceful than any city of its size. Sit down and talk to a few people first and get to know them. After that, if you decide to do a blockade, so be it. Make sure it's based in reality, though, and not ignorance.

  4. I was told that there were no elders at the meeting today in any numbers if at all. I was hoping that there was progress made. Can you confirm?

Please keep your comments to the point. Any comments advocating violence, sexism or racism will not be published. You don't have to agree with me, but you can't cuss me or anyone else out either. As of 6/11/15 I'm not sure how I will be publishing comments. Too many people just submitting the same comment over and over again and I'm overwhelmed by trying to sort this out. So feel free to comment, but understand I may not be approving all comments.
